Mossed bowl

Bark seems not to belong to wood, bark belongs to tree
But bark has a nice texture and adds a lot to this bowl. The
tree grew in a healthy environment. Mosses are growing on
the bark. These too play a role in this object. The mosses on
the bark are alive! Living mosses need clean air and lots of light
(but no direct sunlight) and moisture in the air. Into the bowl the colours
of the heartwood, the sapwood, the bark and the mosses can be seen.
The top edge is wild, a freshly felled tree, the saw-cuts still in it.

The bowl is partly varnished.
Material: Oak-tree (Quercus sp.)
